Two's company

This was written on 26th Jan 2017, publishing it today, as we get closer to IWD 2020.

He loves her like none other

and she more than loves him back

She is his dreamy flower, his mighty sword 

He, her safe haven, her unruly child 

He loves to cook and she loves to drive 

She seldom stitches and he seldom dives 

For, she is more than a woman
He, more than a man..

He didn't kneel and she didn't bow

Yet, Cupid did shoot his choicest arrow 

He let her be his guiding light 

While she let him be her dark knight 

She makes her bread and can earn it too 

He cleans after her, not a doubt or two 

For, she is more than a woman
He, more than a man..

For all that has been and for all that shall be 

They are as yin and yang, as can be 

For, there is a man in every woman 

A woman in every man...

Yes, She is more than a woman

And He, more than a man.. 

Soar high into the magical sky

Let not the pretty pink and the shiny locks mislead you 

She comes in every bright shade of wisdom there is 

Let not the mild tone or the watchful steps misguide you 

She knows she can conquer every path she sets her mind on 

She needs no salute, nor a grand welcome 

Can you tread with her side by side instead? 

She need no fear, nor sweetened stories 
Can you tell her the calm truth instead? 

Hardworking, resilient, spontaneous and meticulous 

Wait, can we call her an achiever instead? 

Intuitive, patient, creative yet courageous 

Should we not call her a leader instead? 

A pat on the back and a look of reassurance 

A bunch of opportunities 

A pound of worthy appreciation 

And.. She will soar high into the magical sky 

After all, She for She, and He for She 

Can make the world a better place be
